Would mild lupus have any effect on dental implants?

Q. Hi. Could you please tell me how long it takes for the procedure per implant, and is it a painful one? If so, is sedation possible? Also I have mild lupus with no organ involvement and I am not on steroids, should this be problematic to my having this treatment? I appreciate your help.,
A. Hi many thanks for your email, your medical condition should not affect you hsving implant treatment. the procedure from start to finish usually takes around 12-16 weeks. once the area is numb there should be no pain during the treatment and pain killers such as paracetamol is usually enough to help with the discomfort after the treatment. if you are anxious about the procedure many clinics do offer sedation for the treatment either oral or IV. hope this is helpful.
