Would my daughter have to have her teeth removed and then have dental implants?

Q. Hello Dr Glover. I am writing on behalf of my 18 year old daughter who has baby teeth still for two of her teeth. They are receding back into the gum and the dentist has suggested getting them removed. Would you say this is necessary or can they stay there. Also, seen as this is an implant website could you tell me if implants would be a good option if she does have teeth removed?,
A. Hi Thanks for your question. Dental implants may be an option for your daughter if she is missing adult teeth. She may need a combined orthodontic and implant treatment plan in order to make space for the implants. A detailed consultation would be required to assess all the options. Regards George Glover
