Would my own tissue be needed for the graft?

Q. i am having an implant to replace an upper front tooth. my dentist has advised i will need synthetic bone which is fine but i may also need gum grafting and he says this would be using bovine material. i cant find any information on the net about this it all seems to say you would use my own tissue to do the graft. please can you give me any more information? i have made an appointment to ask more questions before we go ahead with the work thanks.

A. It would be good for you to discuss this in more detail with your dentist. There is a synthetic soft tissue material made by a company called Biohorizons. This might be what he\’s thinking of using?
