Will dental implant require special care when I get it?

October 17th, 2010
Q.
If I were to get a dental implant would I need to pay particular attention to cleaning this area or is it just the same routine with the other teeth? Is there anything special I would need to do for the implant?

Is there any insurance that will cover dental implants?

October 16th, 2010
Q.
I am about to have a tooth extracted..eek, and have only just been made aware that my dental insurance,I am with denplan, will not cover or contribute to the cost of an implant. Are you aware of any insurance companies that cover this ? I took insurance to try to get ensure that I could get the best dental treatment and now it looks as though I am going to have to have a bridge which is less suitable and which sounds horrendous. Also, I have been told an implant would cost around £2,500 and a bridge around £1800 does that sound right ….? Thanks for your input -I really would appreciate your feedback/comments. Take care.

Can I go on holiday after dental implant?

October 16th, 2010
Q.
I am all set for my dental implants of which I will be getting two for my top teeth and three for the bottom as well as some bone grafting. My family want me to go on holiday a week after the treatment. Will I be okay to do this? There should be sufficient time to recover from the procedure won’t it?

Do dental schools offer dental implants?

October 16th, 2010
Q.
I know that dental implants cost somewhere in the region of £3000 normally but you do know if dental schools offer them and how much they would likely cost there? Do all dental students have an experienced practitioner working with them to make sure everything goes fine?

October 16th, 2010
Q.
I already have a dental crown and have done for about two years now. I am going to get a dental implant where it is and was wiondering if the same crown can be attached to the dental implant when I get it? Or will I have to get a new one? If so I might just wait.

Dental implant for gap where no permanent tooth came through?

October 16th, 2010
Q.
When one of baby teeth fell out no permanent tooth came through to close the gap. Now the gap has closed somewhat and I am 17 but really wanto to fill the gap that is ruining my smile. Would dental implants be a good way to go? I think I may need to get braces or something to widen the gap a bit – can this be done?
