Q. I suffer from periodontal gum disease, would I still be a suitable candidate for dental implants?,
A. Hi Initially the gum disease would have to be treated by root planning to get the gums healthy. Only when the gums are healthy can you have implants. If all the teeth are not able to be saved , then you may require all off them to be extracted and then you can have implants. After dental implants are placed it is important you see a good hygienist regularly to look after the implants. If you are in the leicester or loughborough area , I would be more then happy to have a look.
