I had an implant in 2007 and dentist has told me I will need to pay more money for a bone graft. This can’t be?!

August 1st, 2011
Q.
I had an Implant on a front canine tooth in 2007, I dicovered a small lump had appeared on my gum and went to see my dentist who told me that there is a possibility of some bone loss and having originally spent £1,600….would probably have to fork out another £1,500 for a bone graft….I\’m horrified, I was led to believe that this would last much longer than this, do I have any recourse regarding the original procedure?,

What is the difference between permanent implants in one day and those spread over months?

August 1st, 2011
Q.
I\’m confused. Whats the difference between the permanent implants in one day vs spread out over months ? My son is requires several implants and a cost of thousands of dollars. We don\’t want to put him through a lenghtly procedure if we don\’t have to and we don\’t want to take out a loan to pay for uncessaary work. Please also copy your response to my E mail Thank You.,

Dentist said they wouldn’t do implant because I smoke. Is giving up smoking the only option?

August 1st, 2011
Q.
My front tooth is beyond disrepair or so my dentist has told me. It is very loose though and I think it is only a matter of time. I asked the dentist about the possibility of implants but he said no because I smoke. I asked whether another dentist would do it if I went to them but he was adamant that they wouldn\’t. Is the only reasonable option for me to do my best to give up smoking if I want to have this treatment?,

Would you agree to do vampire fang implants?

August 1st, 2011
Q.
I noticed that you work in the London area and my question is Would you agree to do vampire fang implants I don\’t want anything over the top but fangs with a natural edge that are slightly longer than normal cainine teeth. The problem is that my normal canine teeth are pretty much gone so I would have to have possibly the plate and screw . I am terrified of dentists as had a bad experience that left me traumatised and wonder if u offer sedation as well if you agree to do the procedure. Thank you in advance for your time and consideration in this matter,

I am getting bleeding and pain after implants and crowns. Is something wrong?

July 30th, 2011
Q.
Hi, I had two dental implants with crowns placed last week to replace my old crowns and teeth that had decayed underneath. Everything seemed fine but now I\’m in a lot of pain and the areas where I had the implants are bleeding. My dentist said it\’s usual to experience pain but I\’m really concerned.,

I may lose tooth near cleft palate I was born with. Would implants work for me?

July 30th, 2011
Q.
I was born with a cleft palate and it looks as though I may lose the tooth that sits directly beside the cleft. This tooth was used to support a crown 20 years ago but im told was unecessary. Ive had a root cancal due to pulpitis but it is still uncomfortable. My dentist says he is reluctant to do anything in that area but I have been to see an oral surgeon privately who did x rays and has said the tooth is othwerwise supported in good strong bone. Would you or could you do am implant in a case like this.,

July 30th, 2011
Q.
I have bone loss and gap on left lower position 35 & 45.If The specialiat recommended bone graft but instead of implant would be better with bridge as this would be better to keep clean. I would have a gap with the implant and would see metal bits. Could you please advise.,

Seriously considering dental implants abroad, but what is your opinion?

July 30th, 2011
Q.
Hello Dr Soni. I have a a question I would appreciate you answering. What is your opinion on dental implant treatment abroad? This is something I am seriously considering but the idea of something going wrong does scare me. It is the cheaper cost more than anyting else that makes it appeal to me. Than you.,
