Can immediate dentures have mini implants in them?

Q. can immedate dentures have mini implants in them and can the same implants br used for perminate dentures,
A. Mini implants aren\’t normally used as immediates as they don\’t have good enough initial stability, you\’ll be better off with conventional implants even though they will cost more

How successful are the alternatives to bone grafting?

Q. I\’m am slightly anxious at the possibility of bone grafting from my own jaw. I know there are other options but generally how successful are these alternatives?,
A. It really depends on the amount of bone required. if it is a significant amount then the gold standard is using your own bone.

What would be the cost of replacing two front teeth with dental implants?

Q. I require implants for both my top two front teeth. They were both capped about 17 years ago and one recently broke off. What would be the total cost please?,

Can I have dental veneers while I’m waiting for the rest of my implant?

Q. I\’m waiting for my implant (already had the extraction etc just waiting for the gum to heal) but I\’m considering dental veneers.. am I okay to receive these while I\’m waiting for the rest of my implant to be placed? Thank you!,
A. If you can have veneers then this shouldnt be a problem. Of courses this needs to be discussed with the dentist performing the treatment.

Q. Can I be sedated while the drilling into my jawbone is taking place? (I have had one implant and found the prolonged drilling very unpleasant.),
A. Yes, we often place implants using sedation to help anxious patients relax and it works very well

I’m terrified about the bone grating, how long will it take before I can get back to work?

Q. I have been missing two lower teeth for many years and now my bridge in this area is failing. It has been recommended that i get a bone graft from my ramus and have it inserted in the area prior to having two implants inserted. I am terrified! How painful is the bone graft and harvesting procedure? How long will I need to rest before returning to work? Is the success rate good for this type of graft?,

Is there anything that can be done regarding my rotten teeth?

Q. I am 32 and I have a deep fear of dentists, As a result my teeth have gone rotten with most of them missing. I am really ashamed of myself and would love to be able to smile or just look at people when i speak never mind been able to chew. Is there anything that can be done in terms of relacement teeth.,
A. Yes it sounds like you may be a candidate for implants provided you can go through with the procedure. Perhaps treatment under sedation might help?

Are any other abutments available to stop my denture from touching my palette?

Q. I have implant supported dentures top and bottom which are fitted with butt abutments. I have a huge problem with the upper dentures iast my palette does not tolerate the grip. My mouth burns and my saliva is sticky. If dentures are not fully located then I don\’t have a problem. Are other abutments available to stop the denture gripping or touching the palette? If so, would this also involve having new dentures made to accommodate the new abutments?,
A. I would recommend speaking to the dentist that made your denture if you are having problems as it may be that the denture can be modified to be more tolerable for you. Regards George Glover

How much would it cost me to have the majority of my teeth replaced with implants?

Q. I have been told I have a gum disease which could result in loss of majority of my teetch in6/12 months time.Implants would seem to be the only answer so would like to know cost of this.,
A. It depends how many implants you need and how many teeth require replacement, consider £200 per tooth as a guide

I’m experiencing severe pain in the tooth next to my implant, why is this?

A. Unfortunately I would not be able to comment as i havent placed the implant. Therefore I would recommend you consult your dentist.
