Is it normal to feel ill after dental implant?

August 28th, 2010
Q.
After having my dental implant done a day ago I am feeling like I have a cold or something. They are the usual symptoms anyway, feeling cold and a bit weak. Is this a normal symptom during recovery or could something be wrong?

How painful is a dental implant?

August 28th, 2010
Q.
Is the dental implant procedure one of the most painful dental procedures? I have had a tooth extracted in the past but that is as far as my suffering goes. To tell, you the truth I am not liking the sound of dental implants as I am a bit of a wimp. Could you offer me any advice?

Is it okay to get a dental implant after having a stroke?

August 28th, 2010
Q.
My husband is in his early 50s but suffered a stroke under a year ago. He is now on medication in helping him to recover. However, he is considering dental implants but I am unsure whether it is safe considering what he has been through. It seems a bit too risky I think. What would you advise for this situation?

Is it normal to have bone grafting after dental implant?

August 28th, 2010
Q.
I had a dental implant implanted at the dentist two days ago. At the time I had the dental implant placed in, but, also had some bone grafting done. This does not seem right to me after what I have read on the internet, as it is usually done the other way round? Would you be able to please clear up this matter?

How long does treatment time take for dental implants with crown?

August 28th, 2010
Q.
I am going to be getting a dental implant with a crown next week, but not sure exactly how long this whole process will take. Anyhow, I would like to know whether the crown is likely to get discoloured over time, or whether it will remain at the same colour. Are things like smoking and red win adn things like that more likely to stain them?

Will grinding teeth at night damage dental implant?

August 28th, 2010
Q.
I grind my teeth in my sleep. It has been put down to stress but it is hard relaxing after a hard day. I wear a mouthguard to protect my teeth, but would really like to get dental implants as they are not in the best of conditions. Would I be able to get dental implants considering I grind my teeth at night or would this possibly cause a problem?

Does age have any effect on being able to get dental implants?

August 27th, 2010
Q.
I am in my early 70s but would like to get dental implants. My upper teeth are fine but I only have 9 lower teeth remaining in a good condition and would need to get the rest removed beforehand. Would it be advisable to get a partial or complete denture in my case? Also, age will not make a difference, will it?
