What sedation is used for dental implants?

Q. What kind of sedation is used as part of the dental implant procedures or procedures seeing as there is the need for a few appointments or something like that. Is there any special sedation techniques for those who hold a fear of the dentist, or is it the same for everybody?
A. For nervous patients and/or complex proceedures I would recommend Intra-venous sedation. This involves a small injection of a valium based drug to help you relax during the treatment. For less complex treatment or for patienys only slightly anxious you could consider oral sedation taken an hour or so before your appointment.
