What options are theret to replace dentures with implants?

Q. I have dentures, which I find are a nuisance to hold in place with denture glue. Dental implants seem like a good option, but I would like to know how many implants would be required for all the teeth both top and bottom, and possibly an estimate of how much this would cost? Thanks.
A. Hi, many thanks for your email. There are many ways to replace your dentures with fixed teeth using implants. The main options are:

1: Implant retained dentures, usually three implants for the top jaw and for the bottom jaw, then special dentures made over the implants which clip onto the implants. Cost per jaw would be around £5000-£7000.

2: Implant retained fixed bridge work, usually a minimum of four dental implants in each jaw, with a fixed bridge screwed onto the implants. The cost per jaw would be around £10,000 – £15,000.

Both options do rely upon the amount of bone present in both jaws and can be easily assessed with a CT scan. If you require any further information, please do not hesitate to contact me.
