My teeth are a mess, help?

July 7th, 2012
Q.

Hi, my top teeth are a mess! I have a mini denture for 5 missing teeth, I have 2 gold crowns at the back, 2 crowns at the front which keep coming detached from the posts, 1 crown to the left which is working loose, 1 crown to the right which came out completely, and 1 crown at the front which broke off and I swallowed it. My bottom teeth are not much better. I have no teeth at the back, and all of my front teeth need work! HELP! If I were to look at implants to help me feel human again, what costs should I expect? Would I need to win the lottery?

With a habit of smoking and drinking my husbands spoiled his tooth implant. Which method of single tooth implantation will work best?

July 6th, 2012
Q.

Sir,
My husband had an accident and lost his single tooth 20 years back. 15 years back he had a dental implant with a screw. Now it’s been spoiled. He had an habbit of smoking and drinking. Which method do you suggest.
whcih method is suggestable for single teeth implant? screw form of implant or drafting directly into the bone. what are the advantages and disadvantages in these both methods, will the bone deteriarate over time considering the smoke, drink and previous implant? What are the new techniques in single teeth implementation. Please advise single tooth implantation.

Told two different things off different dentists about my maxilla. Which implant method do I go with?

July 6th, 2012
Q.

I recently visited two separate dentist, both experienced in implant dentistry. The first told me that the relatively new all on 4 methodology was a bad idea. He recommended a simple ridge augmentation procedure for my maxilla, considering that ridge reconstruction and the placing on multiple implants would be very expensive. The second dentist (a perodontist), after doing a complete scan explained that the all on 4 technique could work well with me, especially if he places a fifth implant in the maxilla. In short I am a good candidate for the procedure. As you can see, I have received two quite different professional opinions. I am now quite confused and looking for any third party advice that I can get. Can you give me your insight.

I have an uneven bite due to a misaligned jaw how do I solve it?

July 6th, 2012
Q.

I have a Maliclusion of my jaw and have had to have teeth ? 2 extracted on upper left back teeth and ? 2 lower right back. giving me an uneven bite and no real means to chew properly. I am 59 yrs. young and as far as I am aware a good jaw bone etc. I was on a NHS waiting list for implants, then was removed as they no longer do implants on NHS. Because of the expense I have thought of going abroad to Poland, yet here in the U.K. is just as big a mine field to find a good Implant dentist can you give me a rough idea of costs and how to find a good implant dentist (I’ll travel to where ever) or could I solve some of the problem by having implants on the upper or on lower jaw only ?

I need a bone graft but im a student so money is an issue?

July 6th, 2012
Q.

Hello, I have had to two front teeth removed some time ago due to a childhood injury with reoccuring infection meaning the dentist could not save the teeth. I have had an apexectomy some years ago and a cap fitted prior to that, but the infection kept coming back. I may need a bone graft, so would like a recommendation please on a good dental practice to do this. I was made redundant 2 years ago and am now a student so money is an issue. Can you recommend someone who is not overpriced and will accept a finance option. Can I get this done on the NHS as it has affected my confidence and ability to be my normal self.
Thank you

One of my two recently fitted implants protrudes 45 degrees to the left and extends into my sinus. What do I do about the pain?

July 6th, 2012
Q.

Hello I have an issue with my implants, I have recently had two implants in the top front teeth, now the abutments have been fitted and one is located on the front of my gum about 0.5 cm or so up and protruding at 45 degrees towards the left tooth area. The top of this implant has now actually extended into the sinus area and can be seen on the x rays. This is really painful and I do not see how another tooth could ever be fitted to it whilst being in line with the others. Is there potentially a way this can be sorted out or should the implant be removed all together. It is all really painful in the bone and the gum as well after just 5 days, thank you for your time.

Should I go for fixed or removable teeth after sinus lift?

June 11th, 2012
Q.
I’m healing from a sinus floor lift, about three months now. I have to make a choice between implants that the denture is screwed in place, or one that snaps in and is removable. Can you give me the pros and cons for each method. I’d rather not have to take them out. I was told that the snap in kind are easier to clean, but wouldn’t a water pick clean the fixed kind? I was also told that the fixed kind are heavy and that they would affect speech, because there is a small space between the gum and denture. I also was told that with the snap in, I would need 5 implants and 6 with the fixed. I would have to go in once a year for either, to remove and clean or replace the clips. Thanks,
