Should I wait for the bone to heal before I consider getting dental implants?

Q. I had my upper right 5 tooth extracted exactly a week ago (11th May). The hole in my gum still feels fresh and strange. If I wanted to consider an implant for this single tooth, would it be easier and less invasive to do it immediately before the gum and bone have healed over fully? Or should I wait for the full healing process to run its course and then consider it? Thank you for any help. (PS. I was born and grew up in Chelmsford!),
A. You should wait if you can to let the bone heal for 4 months or so. I think you might get the best result in the long term this way.
