What criteria are there to be allowed dental implants?

I am thinking about getting an implant as the bridge I had put in place quite a few years ago is begininning to fail. My dentist told me this would happen eventually. Are there any specifications for people who can get implants, as there are with other dental treatments?

What complications may arise when getting dental implants abroad?

I have been looking into getting dental implants abroad, because of the cheaper costs. I have looked on some sites about the treatment available abroad and know it is not as safe in terms of regulations.
