Should I be worried that I can see dental implant poking through gums?

August 22nd, 2010
Q.
Just over two weeks ago I had a dental implant toward the back of my mouth. Anyway, it began to feel a bit loose, and to my absolute horror and astonishment, when I looked at it this morning I could actually see the implant coming out of my gums. I can only assume it has failed. Should I see my dentist as soon as? It suprisingly doesn’t hurt or look swelled.

Over three months ago I had a dental implant. Recently, I have begun to get a horrible taste in my mouth and the implant is the only thing I can think it to be. I am possibly right. What is causing it?

Will wearing braces have any detrimental effect on my dental implant? The implant is at the very front of my mouth, if that may possibly be even more problematic.

Is the swelling around dental implant normal?

August 21st, 2010
Q.
I had an implant put in just over two weeks ago now, and everything was fine. However, I then developed swelling around the area again and am once again on antibiotics. Would you be able to tell me what will happen if the area around the implant does become infected, and what can be done about it?

Is it okay not to treat a missing tooth?

August 20th, 2010
Q.
I had to have tooth extracted due to infection. It is toward the back of my mouth and people can not even see it when I smile or talk. The dentist has recommend an implant and some other treatment, but I am contemplating just leaving it. Will it cause any problems if I do this, as I would rather save my money?
