Why may a dental implant fail?

August 20th, 2010
Q.
Is there a particular reason why a person may reject a dental implant? I had a dental implant placed but it not work out, and I am now going to have to get it sorted. If I have another implanted is there any likelihood that the same problem will arise? Or was I just unfortunate or something?

How long after the dental implant procedure will a patient need to wait to know that the procedure has been a success, and the implant has not been ‘rejected’?

August 16th, 2010
Q.
I had my implant put in a week ago. Everything seems to be going okay, but I was hoping you would be able to advise me on what symptoms to look out for to ascertain whether a dental implant is a failure or success?

Do clincs offer a guarantee on dental implants?

August 14th, 2010
Q.
Do clinics offer a service through which they will give after-treatment for a faulty implant withing a certain time span should anything go wrong, which is of no fault to the patient? I am talking say one year down the line, seen as they are supposed to last for quite some time?

Will grinding teeth damage dental implant?

August 14th, 2010
Q.
I am going to need to get a dental implant for my front tooth. I am concerned about whether it will hold up as I grind my teeth when I sleep. I wear a mouth guard so it should be okay, but was hoping that you would be able to tell me whether it is okay to have an implant when you suffer from this?

Is there an age limit for dental implants?

August 8th, 2010
Q.
At what age is it advised that you can get an implant? There must be a cut-off age for children I guess, but my child suffered a bad injury to his face and is need of such treatment. He is ten. Hope to hear from you soon.

Q.
In how many cases, if any, in your experience have patients had an implant that has failed? If this happens would a practice give further treatment free of charge to amend the problem?
