What is the level of pain after implants?

February 3rd, 2010
Q.
What is the healing like after getting dental implants if you can tell me? Are the gums bulged and stuff. In the past I had to have an infected tooth removed through surgery and this is what happened. Will implants be similar?

Can I replace sore teeth with dental implants?

January 12th, 2010
Q.
Hello Dr Moore, I have two very very sore teeth that are coming to thed of thei life on my bottom left jaw. I am sick and tired of the pain this causes me as it makes it really difficult for me to eat food. I am looking into the kind of treatments that could get this sorted and I was wondering if dental implants would be best. The two teeth in question look ghastly but the pain they are causing me is the deciding factor. Could you offer any assistance please?

Am I right to be worried about dental implant procedure?

December 16th, 2009
Q.
I have just lost a lower premolar. It was a very difficult extraction over 50 minutes to remove. I am thinking about an implant but nervious about how long it will take to put in an implant and if i will have any instruments or equipment in my mouth whilst the procedure is being done. I understand I will have local anesthetic similar to that used for extraction. What happens to the cut gum while the implant is being positioned? Thank you

When does dental implant pain stop?

December 16th, 2009
Q.
I know from reading on here that it takes about three months for the implant to fully heal after it has been placed, but when does the pain from the implant actually stop. That is what I am most concerned about?

Can I go on holiday after dental implant?

December 16th, 2009
Q.
I am all set for my dental implants of which I will be getting two for my top teeth and three for the bottom as well as some bone grafting. My family want me to go on holiday a week after the treatment. Will I be okay to do this? There should be sufficient time to recover from the procedure won’t it?

Can nervous patients have dental implants?

December 11th, 2009
Q.
I understand that dental implants require the use of drills and needles and all that horrible stuff. Do you think that in the near future some of the new laser or pain free technology that is coming into dentistry may make this procedure less scary?

Are implants drilled into bone?

December 7th, 2009
Q.
Are dental implants screwed into the gum and bone or are they only cemented in with that special dental cement. The thought of drilling and all that stuff makes me queasy!

Is bone grafting procedure completely safe?

December 2nd, 2009
Q.
I wanted implant but my dentist has now told me that I am going to need the bone grafting treatment before I can go ahead. I am not all that sure about this treatment. How much will it add to the cost of my already extortionate implants? Also, entirely safe procedure as it sounds ominous to me!
