What would be the cost of implants to replace most, if not all, of my teeth?

June 17th, 2011
Q.
Hi. I\’m 49 and have always looked cleaned my teeth, but I\’ve now lost two upper teeth due to fracturing the roots. This is possibly through gritting my teeth so much, but I also had an RTA in 1995 and had a jaw and neck injury. I had a hard mouth shield made about ten years ago, but I could never sleep with it in and abandoned it after a few weeks. I\’ve recently seen a new dentist who has referred me to an NHS dental hospital as more teeth have fractured and my jaws ache, possibly through joint/disc problems, but he\’s warned me I\’ll probably lose the teeth. All of the teeth are upper and in the end I suppose they\’ll be about four or five need replacing; I\’m praying the front ones, which constantly ache, don\’t have to come out, too. I\’m very upset about losing my teeth and my funds are limited, but could you please give me an indication of the cost of implanting so many teeth and also the time scale from having the initial consultation to completion. Thanks.,

June 16th, 2011
Q.
I went to see a hygienist because i had severe gum disease and unfortunately lost some of my teeth. He said that there will be no chance for me being able to replace those missing teeth with implants, which is what i wanted to do but isn\’t it up to the dentist to decide that?? what do you think?,

My dentist has recommended a full arch bridge, but I disagree. What is your opinion?

June 16th, 2011
Q.
I have four implants ready to add the bridge to. I seem to have a different opinion from my dentist, in that I would prefer 3 individual shorter bridges rather than one full one. I will have both cannine teeth crowned to be included and retain a crowned tooth either side at the back. I thought smaller ones would be easier to clean and if some problem develops I may not loose everything particularly as expensive. What is your view?,

A school of dentistry has offered to perform implants on the NHS, but should I go private instead?

June 16th, 2011
Q.
3 years ago I was injured by a hockey ball and my two front teeth were knocked out completely. Having had root canal treatment on the existing teeth, I have now been advised to review my options regarding implants, as there is significant resorption with the left tooth. My question is whether it would be wise so go privately to get this work done or go with the NHS (a school of dentistry has offered to perform the implants on the NHS). Are there any cosmetic or health benefits to getting this work done privately?,
