I am looking into the cost of implant treatment to replace a pre-molar crown that needs extraction due to a longstanding infection in the root which flared up recently. I have been advised that the extraction should be done as soon as possible, and that there is some bone loss due to the infection. Is there any reason why my usual NHS dentist should not do the extraction prior to implant treatment? Or would you advise that the specialist doing the implant treatment should do the extraction?
