Can a patient on bisphonates have an implant?

Q. Can a patient on bisphonates have an implant .
A. This isn’t a straightforward question to answer as all patients vary in the drug regime theay are on and the reaction they may have to the implant surgery. As a general rule intra-venous bisphosphonates are a contra-indication to implants where oral drugs are less likely to cause side effects
