Would I no longer need to use fixatives and take my dentures out at night if I get implants?

January 20th, 2011
Q.
I am looking at a lower jaw dental implant with denture instead of my existing conventional full denture. Currently I have to use lots of fixative and I take my lower set out at night. Will I avoid both if I opt for implants,

Can you give me an estimate for a full fixed restoration to replace my dentures?

December 21st, 2010
Q.
As a result of me having dentures for the past 30 years, I feel that this has seriously effected my confidence in the way in which I converse with people in general. Due to this, I would appreciate if you could advise me of an estimate in respect to a full fixed restoration.,

Would I qualify for dental implants on the NHS as I suffer from Fibrmyalgia and this makes my denture incredibly uncomfortable?

December 15th, 2010
Q.
I\’ve had to have all types of dentures since the age of 7 due to falling onto my front teeth.I now have 7 missing from thr front and I\’m now 47yrs.I suffer from fibrmyalgia and have had it for some 23yrs now.Over the past 4/5 yrs the pain in my upper jaw is becoming quite unbearable with wearing my denture. The relief I get whenever I remove it is vast and wonderful.Would I quailfy for implants through the nhs as I am on diability allowances, as my connective tissue is being compounded by the denture. The pain I\’m in is quite considerable. Thankyou,

I hate using denture grip as my dentures drop when I go out to eat. Is there a way to keep them in place?

December 15th, 2010
Q.
I have a full upper denture and hate using denture grip every day, apart from only lasting a while, if i go out to eat my dentures drop – i have been told that there iis a technic where the dentures stay in place with a joint like a magnet…is this true and are they are any good,

Should I get a Maryland or cantilever bridge and how long would they last?

December 9th, 2010
Q.
Good afternoon, I recently had a front tooth (post crown) removed due to an infection, i also lost a lot of bone at the same time. ive worn a denture for 6mths and its healed well but im not sure which bridge is more suitable for me (i cannot stand the idea of an implant as i would prob need a bone graft and also it would mean another 12mths for healing) i waver to the maryland as is less invasive, but feel the cantilever may give me a better look and last longer (although my teeth at either side are 100% fine and this bothers me to mess. which bridge do you feel to be the better in looks, feel & how long they last? im so desperate to get my smile back! thank you so much ,
