Can I have a dental implant placed in the back of my mouth?

Q. i have one back tooth missing because it was extracted several years ago and would like it back because i\’m finding it hard to eat on the left side of my mouth (where there are no teeth missing) can i have an implant done at the back of my mouth? or do you suggest something else? thanks,
A. Thanks for your question. Implants can normally be placed anywhere in the mouth to replace missing teeth provided there is sufficient bone to anchor them in place. Your first step would be to have a consultation and at this stage the dentist would be able to advise you or your likely suitability and the procedures involved. Hope that this helps.
