Can my teeth be replaced with implants in a ‘one sitting’ visit?

July 2nd, 2011
Q.
Dear Dr Solanki, I am looking at the possibility of having to replace my two front teeth (maxillary central incisors?) with implants (due to an accident the teeth were damaged). I am concerned about the process in a cosmetic sense as from what i understand the process can take 3-6 months. Are you \’without\’ teeth during this period or can a temporary bridge or crowns be fitted in the interim? Can these teeth be replaced with implants in a \’one sitting\’ visit? Many thanks in anticipation.,

What is the maximum amount of dental implants that I am able to get in one day?

July 2nd, 2011
Q.
What is the maximum amount of dental implants that I am able to get in one day? Is it down to my own pain threshold or man hours or something else? I am talking full mouth reconstruction here as I have only three teeth reminined in my upper jaw and the lower jaw is also on the way out.,

I feel that I need a second opinion, what do you think?

July 2nd, 2011
Q.
Dear Dr Solanki I am a 38 year old male (former non-heavy smoker) and have last year been diagnosed with advanced peridontal disease. My dental hygiene has always been reasonable but my doctor suggested that I may have genetic predospisition to the disease – in her words she was quite surprised to see such advanced form in someone so young. I have then undergone several advanced treatments including root scaling and planning and am continuing to visit my perodontist regularly for individual area treatment. My doctor is of the opinion that I am responding well to the treatment and she believes that the disease is almost under control. However, since the treatment I have noticed substantial shrinking of the gum at the back of both bottom and upper jaw – some of the roots are becoming distinctly visible and there are considerably gaps between the teeth. My front teeth appear normal and healthy. I enquired about the bone grafting procedures with my dentist who basically told me that there was nothing they can do since the loss of the bone is quite substantial. She also mentioned that in the current condition my teeth are much more accessible for treatment so covering the exposed roots with anything may only alleviate my condition. On the other hand I am quite concious of the fact a couple of my teeth are somewhat mobile now and the cosmetic effect of gum recession is making me anxious about my own smile. I work in a professional environment so having a nice smile, which I always have in the past, is extremely important. Therefore, I would like to seek a second opinion on whether, once my condition is under control, there may be advanced bone grafting treatments available to replace the lost jaw bone and also whether there are any cosmetic options available to cover the exposed roots. Yours gravely worried,,

Would dental implants help with the overbite problem that I have?

July 1st, 2011
Q.
When I was fifteen I had my crowns put in for three teeth that fell out. The crowns have stood up well but I have an overbite and this makes me very conscious of my mouth and also my smile. The crowns are also looking a bit more nasty coloured compared to my normal teeth even though I have what is I think a good level of oral hygiene. I said to my dentist about getting dentla implant possibly but he said the crowns did not need replacing yet. If I did get dental implants would they help with the overbite problem that I have? Or would something like veeners just be the ebst option. Thank you for your time.,

Would dental implants be a good replacement option for me?

July 1st, 2011
Q.
I am now into my early 60s and even though I have kept a healthy diet not drinking red wine and other things like that my teeth are of a nasty colour. My dentist has said that this it just ageing which I think is not very good. I also have receding gums and can sometimes get bleeding gums. Would you advise me if implants would be a good replacement option?,

Why is my implant sensitive to hot and cold liquids all of a sudden?

July 1st, 2011
Q.
Hi! I had an implant placed in the back left side of my mouth in 1993. I\’ve never had a problem with it. Starting about three weeks ago it became sensitive to hot and cold liquids and cold food. Do you possibly know what is going on? It\’s the second molar from the back – large in comparison to the ones on each side of it so I don\’t think it\’s referred (?) pain. Thanks for any help you might be able to give.,
