I am only 15 but require an implant for front upper missing tooth. Can I have treatment?

July 21st, 2011
Q.
can you tell me what age limit you put on implants? I am only 15 but I had to have my upper front tooth removed because of a bad accident. For me this is the worst thing and I can\’t smile or talk. I can\’t go out. I need a fix for it. I am desparate for treatment but will implants be suitable.? my parents say they will pay.,

Would it be a good idea for my 78-year old mother to go ahead with dental implants?

June 6th, 2011
Q.
Hello, this is a question for my 78 year old mother. She\’s had dentures in since she was very young and had several replacements throughout her life. She is looking for a more permanent solution but is frightened that her age and fragility is going to get in the way of treatment. She also has type 2 diabetes and anaemia. What do you think Dr? Would it be a good idea for her to have the implants or can you recommend anything else? Thank you, Melinda.,

At what age can someone receive a dental implant?

May 7th, 2011
Q.
My son lost his front tooth in a bicycle accident at the age of 11.He is now 16 and has just had a maryland bridge fitted as a temporary measure because he can\’t go on wearing his retainer with an artificial tooth all the time.(he\’s in the retainer stage of orthodontic treatment)I\’ve been told he needs to wait until he has fully grown for an implant at about 18 or 19 years old. This seems to be the best route, although his orthodontist said the trauma to his upper jawbone has left limited room for an implant and mentioned bone grafts, etc. This all sounded a bit horrific, so I then thought of a bridge later on instead.Would an implant be the best thing? What age?How do I choose a reliable dentist in our area(Peterborough). If I have to pay to get the best for him, I will.He has already had private orthodontic treatment to get the best from his teeth generally.I\’m finding it hard to get any real answers from anyone and people tell me conflicting things.Thank you for your time and help.,
