How many implants needed to suppot complete upper denture?

September 24th, 2010
Q.
I have a complete denture for my upper mouth. Not had it for too long but just wanted to see how it was without implants – not all that good it turns about. I need more stability that I believe dentalimplants willl be able to give me. I am just wanting to ask how many dental implants would be needed to help provide support for my complete upper denture?

Can you get dental implants after getting dentures?

September 2nd, 2010
Q.
I am going to be getting a complete denture for my upper teeth. I understand that dental implants can help a great deal in holding dentures in place but I am unable to afford them at the moment. I would like to know if it is possible to get dental implants at a later date to help support the dentures?

Does age have any effect on being able to get dental implants?

August 27th, 2010
Q.
I am in my early 70s but would like to get dental implants. My upper teeth are fine but I only have 9 lower teeth remaining in a good condition and would need to get the rest removed beforehand. Would it be advisable to get a partial or complete denture in my case? Also, age will not make a difference, will it?

How can dental implants help to secure dentures?

August 27th, 2010
Q.
I have had my dentures for a short while now but they never feel like they are securely fitted. I have read that dental implants may be able to help them be more sturdy. I was hoping you could tell me how this is possible? Thank you.

How do implants help to support dentures?

August 27th, 2010
Q.
I have decided that I am going to get some dental implants to help support my complete denture. However, I would appreciate it if you could tell me how many implants would generally be required to add support to a complete denture? Also, how do the implants help to support them. I find that my denture feels out of place quite a bit and it can be a hastle.

Are there any alternatives to a denture/implant?

August 21st, 2010
Q.
Hi Dr Moore I am 62 years of age. I have lost all my lower right side molers, including the canine. The bone is very thin on this side and an Implantologist locally has said he would have to give me a cross between an implant and a denture on this side. The other problem is that I have lost all my left upper molars except one premolar. Therefore I cannot use my molars for chewing at all. I am using my front teeth for chewing at present. I realise that the front top teeth are doing more work than they have ever done in my whole life and the backs of the four main front teeth are wearing thin. Soon I will have to think about crowns as well as implants. However I’ve just been on Dr Mercola’s website from America and he says we must not have any kind of metal or titanium in our implants because these will cause health problems long term. I had my mercury fillings removed years ago, however I realise mercury can still be in the tissues years later. Have you any suggestions of where I can go from here? The idea of a denture/implant does not appeal to me very much. Your expert advice will be very much appreciated.

What are the advantages of dental implants?

August 15th, 2010
Q.
My tooth has fallen out and I have had a temporary tooth in place for aesthetic reasons. Now, I am on the market to get this problem solved properly. Implants seem like a good option, but I would like to know what advantages such a technique has over more traditional treatments like bridges and dentures?

Why are implants so costly compared to similar treatments?

August 14th, 2010
Q.
Are there more risks involved in the implant procedure than with something like dentures, what with drilling into the gum? Also, why are implants so costly in comparison to some of the other similar treatments?
