Can Fibrmyalgia cause discomfort when wearing a denture?

November 6th, 2011
Q.
My sister has been undergoing dental treatment and has had a denture (NHS) which has never fitted correctly, she has recently had more teeth added to it, but is tols she cannot have “clips” either side on the NHS, is this correct? the dentist has however put a clip on one side. She is in great discomfort, and has been for a long while, do you think that the fact she has fibromyalgia could affect the pain caused by the denture? your opinion would be much appreciated, Thanks,

Would I qualify for dental implants on the NHS as I suffer from Fibrmyalgia and this makes my denture incredibly uncomfortable?

October 15th, 2011
Q.
I\’ve had to have all types of dentures since the age of 7 due to falling onto my front teeth.I now have 7 missing from thr front and I\’m now 47yrs.I suffer from fibrmyalgia and have had it for some 23yrs now.Over the past 4/5 yrs the pain in my upper jaw is becoming quite unbearable with wearing my denture. The relief I get whenever I remove it is vast and wonderful.Would I quailfy for implants through the nhs as I am on diability allowances, as my connective tissue is being compounded by the denture. The pain I\’m in is quite considerable. Thankyou,
