How long after abutment is attached will I be able to get crown. Will temporary denture still fit?

August 4th, 2011
Q.
I lost a front tooth approximately 6 months ago. I have opted for the implant surgery and it has gone relatively well. I am at the stage of getting the abundment screwed onto the rod. My question is, is it only approximately 7 days for the wound to heal enough to to put a crown onto the abundment? and also I have a temporary denture for the tooth missing which I am using to hide the fact I am missing a front tooth, will this be able to still be worn once the abundment is put in place?,

What am I supposed to do without teeth for 4 months??

June 25th, 2011
Q.
I had a sinus lift and bone graft last September, followed by more bone graft 3 roots removing and 6 implants placed in my top jaw, not started on the bottom jaw yet, dentist has asked me to return in 4 months for abutments placing but how do you eat or go out can you have a denture made to go over the implants or would that risk damage to the bone graft, how do people manage to go out, eat, go to work without any teeth, I have 5 bottom teeth left which stops me even using my gums to chew so can only eat soft foods that can spoon and swallow without any chewing action,

Dentist quoted me for treatment but now this has gone up, after they removed my teeth! I would be grateful for any advice?

June 23rd, 2011
Q.
Hi I have been going to a cosmetic dentist for three months now after 20 yrs of dental phobia! They advised me that all my teeth needed to be extracted and that I need full fixed bridge upper and lower on 8 implants at the top plus 4 mini implants and 6 implants on the bottom. What started off as a quote for around £15k worth of treatment (not including the £3.5k fir extractions and temp dentures ) has risen to £35k – but this is after my teeth have gone. They have told me to arrange my own ct scan – no clue how I do this and are not willing to reline my awful temp dentures as they are very busy. Does this sound right? Grateful for any advice, I am 40 in good health don\’t smoke never had but have family history of periodontal disease quite severely. Thanks. ,
