What treatment is available for chipped teeth?

August 13th, 2010
Q.
I am in my late twenties and having a horrible problem where my teeth seem to be getting chipped constantly. My mother had the same problem so I think it must be hereditary. Could you please tell me treatment options – implant, bridge, crowns? Thank you.

How long after tooth extraction before an implant can be placed?

August 13th, 2010
Q.
Once a tooth is extracted how long does it take before an implant can be put in? Is it only the healing time that plays a part in the time scale or are there any other factors?

Is bleeding around dental implant a sign of infection?

August 12th, 2010
Q.
Three weeks ago I had a dental implant. I followed the guidelines I was given but have developed bleeding around the infection. There is not too much but I don’t think it shoudl happen. Does this happen? Should I be concerned and get in contact with my dentist to get it sorted? May it be infected?

I have diabetes and have read that it may be possible to get dental implants. Is there any truth to it, and why so if there is? Are there any alternative options available?

Are Nobel Biocare implants a good choice?

August 12th, 2010
Q.
Hi, I see you have mentioned Nobel Biocare Implants as being a very trustworthy brand, and I was thinking of having one placed, although I have since read that in America, Nobel are being investigated due to using un-sterile packaging. Is this true? Also, have your heard of a company called Implant Direct that makes Screw Plant, as I have been offered implants in the UK from only £995? Why are this company so cheap in comparision, and what is the difference between their implant and the big names you mentioned? Very confused!!!

Would you recommend recrowning or an implant?

August 12th, 2010
Q.
Could you please help me with my decision in the following. I had a crown put in around eight years ago. The dentist has now informed me that it is on its last legs and that I will need recrowning. Or, he said I could have an implant. Which, in your opinion, would be the better option?

What factors make a patient unsuitable for dental implants?

August 12th, 2010
Q.
In what cases are patients able to get a dental implant. I guess there must be circumstances where people are unable to do so. I am asking becuase I myself am looking into the procedure now that I think my crown is coming to the end of its life.

Do implants contain any dangerous components?

August 12th, 2010
Q.
Is there the possibility that any of the properties contained in a dental implant may be potentially harmful to a person? I have been told I need to get an implant and want to ease the concerns I have running through my mind.
