The treatment seems very costly, is this the best treatment for me?

Q. Hi, please can i ask for your advise, I had a fall several years ago, & my front tooth died so i had route canal & vaneer fitted however the tooth is now coming lose so my dentist has advised that i have a implant costing in total with bone graffting around £3000. He said it would take around 8 months in total to complete as the longer we leave my gum to heal the better the results. However he called me today to say that i should go to see a specialist dentist who could do the work in one go but the consultation is £95.00 i m a little confussed now. Is this just a way to get more money from me or is this the best option for me?,
A. Hi thanks for your question. Unfortunately I can\’t say what the most appropriate option for you is without a full consultation. Carrying out any dental treatment towards the front of the mouth where the results are more visible is always a difficult process as understandbly all dentists want their clients to be happy with the smile and therefore may refer to another dentist or specialist practicioner who perhaps has more experience. I would perhaps suggest discussing with your dentist why he would like you to see a specialist? I understand that £95 is a lot of money, but you do need to be sure that you are going to get an end result you will be happy with. I hope that this helps. Regards George Glover
