What material is used for bone grafting?

Q. After researching dental implants I have come across what is called bonr grafts, where bone is put into the jawline or something to help anchor the implant when it is put in. What material is used to do this? Is it actual bone or some other synthetic material?
A. It can be either synthetic bone usually from animal origin for small defects or your own bone taken from the lower jaw for larger defects. For very large bone defects it is also possible to use bone taken from the hip to rebuild the jaws.
