Will dental crown need to be replaced if fallen from implant?

September 26th, 2010
Q.
The crown that is attached to my dental implant has fallen away. It started as a crack but now the whole thing has gone. Will I only need to get the crown replaced or may this affect the implant itself?
A.
New crown, unfortunately.

Q.
Hi Dr Solanki, would you be able to tell me if dental insurance will cover any of the cost of dental implants? Have you had any patients who have done this, and would you be able to offer any advice?

What are mini implants used for?

September 26th, 2010
Q.
Are mini dental implants primarily for holding dentures in place or something along those lines? From what I have read that seems to be the idea but I am not too sure?

What to do if crack in implant crown?

September 26th, 2010
Q.
I was palying football on saturday when I took a boot to the face. I later realised that there is a crack in the dental implant crown at the top right side of my mouth. It is quite noticeable and I am worried it will only get worse until the crown just falls out. Will I need to get another one or is there any way that this one can be salvaged?

How long will pain alst after dental implant?

September 26th, 2010
Q.
How long is the pain expected to last after the dental implant is put in? Will I be given medication to alleviate the pain and if so how long for? How long does it take for the implant site to heal properly? A fair few questions but thanks.

How will dentist assess if bone is strong enough for implant?

September 26th, 2010
Q.
How will the dentist assess whether the bone in my jaw is strong enough to hold a dental implant? If it isn’t would a bone graft be the only viable option?
