On disability benefits and need help with teeth that are crumbling away. Can you advise?

Q. I have SLE & Sjogren’s & have been taking Hydroxychloroquine for 12 years. My teeth are literally crumbling in my mouth & frequently break whilst eating. My dentist just pulls them out rather than fixing them & now I only have 17 teeth left. This is making eating very hard & painful & I’m very concerned about more snapping. Is there any way I can my teeth repaired properly on the NHS instead of having them extracted. I am on disability benefits & have been told that as I have an illness that affects oral hygiene I may be entitled to free or reduced rate treatment. What would you advise? Would a dental school be able to help me?,
A. You might be right to contact a dental school or ask for a referral from your dentist, they might be able to help you more than a general dentist
