Will Taking Steroids For A Short Period Of Time Make My Dental Implants Fall Out?

Hi Dr. Moore. Would taking steroids for shingles for 5 days cause an implant that was in my mouth for 16 months to fall out? I don`t smoke or take any other medication. I took the steroids for 5 days but the shingles were caught early and cleared up within 3 months. I had 2 implants put in, 1 took 28 months for my dentist to put in and the other 16 months. The latter got infected. My question still remains, could taking steroids for a short period of time affect implants?

There’s A Crack In One Of My Dental Implants. Should I Go Back To My Dentist To Get It Looked At?

Hello Dr Fahey, I’m wondering if you can help me. I have two implants that are around a year old.They have been perfect for me up until a couple of days ago. I was eating a boiled sweet and crunched it against one of my implants. At the time I didn’t notice anything but it appears that there is a slight crack in the implant. It hasn’t caused any issues so far, however I don’t want it to in the future. Do you think it will be fine or should I head back to my dentist to get it checked out? What could potentially happen? dental implant has fallen out

Hi, I had an imlant placed this July, now four weeks later the implant has come out. It starting feelin very wobbly whenever I talked or ate. Then yesterday evening it came out, the tooth cemented with the screw, it all came out. Please advise me what to do. And how much would it roughly cost me to get it back in there. And could you please tell me what might have caused the tooth and screw to come out? Kind Regards,

I seem to have broken my implant while eating a marshmallow! Can implants really break like this?

I can\’t believe this – I seem to have broken an implant whilst eating a marshmallow!!! Can implants really break like this? Am I now doomed to a life without a tooth? Its my top back tooth (7 I thinK) cheers ,
