November 12th, 2010
Q.
How old must you be to be able to get a dental implant. I mean, is there an age limit for the treatment? My son of 14 has had porblms with his teeth but I guess he is still growing so it many not be the best idea to get dental implants for him yet?

Is implant cause of bad taste in mouth?

November 12th, 2010
Q.
A week ago I got a crown attached to my dental implant and everything was going fine. Now, I have begun to get this horrible taste in my mouth and it has not gone away even through the use of mouthwash and stuff lime that. My dentist has checked it and said that everything is okay and I do not have an infection and he even did an x-ray but that showed nothing wrong. Do you know what the problem could be? There is no pain or swelling really but just the horrible taste.

Can I be put to sleep during implant treatment?

November 12th, 2010
Q.
Please tell me that a very powerful type of anaesthesia is used for the dental implant procedure. I really want to get my teeth sorted but am very scared of minor treatment at the dentist never mind something so intrusive as this. Can I be put to sleep. I don’t want to be aware of what is going on one bit!

Candidate for single implant in place of missing tooth?

November 11th, 2010
Q.
I have a crown on one of my front top teeth. The other central tooth is crowned also. I have had an persistent infection in the root canal of this tooth and now have a lump in the gum over it. My dentist has been trying to save the crown and do a root canal filling but has now discovered the crown is cracked. She has suggested extraction and a false front tooth on a plate and to include some other missing back teeth on either side of my top jaw. I can manage to eat without these back teeth causing any problems and don’t really want a plate. I have had sinus problems from my other infected teeth near the front on the same side as the present troublesome tooth which ceased when these were removed but my damaged crown is making my nose and cheek area a bit sensitive although there is not usually any throbbing pain. Would I be a candidate for a single implant of the missing front tooth?

Are there any additional costs to implants?

November 11th, 2010
Q.
Is the cost that some dental clinics advertiwe on their websites for dental implants entirely accurate, or does this not include other things that may add to the cost? I am talking about the amount of appointments needed and materials, etc. Thank you in advance.

Are there any cheap alternatives to implants?

November 11th, 2010
Q.
I would really like to get dental implants but just don’t have available funds at the moment. Are there any good alternatives to this treatment that are well founded in their own respect and will last for a good amount of time?

Anything stronger than cement for attaching denture?

November 7th, 2010
Q.
Hi Dr Moore! I had lost all my teeth on the upper but retained three in the bottom. I had four implants on the upper and and two in the lower to cover fill the gap between the natural teeth. Dentures were placed in both cases held by cement.Although I am quite happy with the results because I had front reconstructed with 12 teeth on the upper and lower and was apple to eat comfortably. Unfortunately both fell out and had to be recemented. Please tell me what is the best course of action. Is this the normal way as I did not opt for a plate. I was hoping that after implants teeth should be mechanically fastned and should not entirely depend on the cement. I will be very grateful for your opinion.
