Why am I getting pain in jaw where implant was placed over a year ago?

Q. About two years ago now I had my dental implant fitted and eeverything has been great. Then just under under a week ago I was getting this pain in my gum in the area where the implants was implanted. My dentist recommended me to a specialist and he told me I had a sinus on the gum which is causing the trouble. I have been prescribed antibiotics and a clening method. Do you have any experience with this. Is this normal?
A. It can be caused by a number of reasons from a bone infection to a small piece of cement under the gum. It sounds like you will be seeing the right person who will be able to assess the problem and give you some options.
