What anaesthesia is used for dental implants?

Q. What kinf of anaesthesia is used furing the dental implant procedure? Is it only to take feeling away from the area where the proceedure is taking place or would I be put to sleep. The thing is, I don’t want to be aware of what is going on as I know I will jsut freak out. I am not even that keen on the whole traetment idea as it is! If you could offer any advice then I would be very thankful, sarah.
A. hi many thanks for your email, if you dont want to be aware of whats going on my advice is have the procedure done under IV sedation which will not completely put you to sleep but you will be unaware of whats going on.

hope this is helpful.

I would agree also with the statement about IV sedation. Many people would prefer to have the implant placed this way. It is much more comfortable this way.
