Would an implant be harder to place in my jaw if I have a plate?

June 6th, 2011
Q.
Hello Dr Glover I have to have a dental plate to replace a tooth which is being extracted. If a couple of years down the line I decide on an implant instead would this still be possible or would it be harder for the implant to be put into my jaw? many thanks,

I think my dental crown is loose, what should I do?

June 6th, 2011
Q.
I had a crown on implant placed approx 2 weeks ago on my front tooth next to post crown on the other front tooth. Although I am unable to move the tooth when i try to with my fingers etc, touching the back top of the tooth with my tongue it feels spongy and like it is loose. I am reluctant to re-visit the dentist as im not sure the crown is loose, but it is bothering me daily. Im wondering if because I have had a temporary bridge in for so long (around 8 month) and this came loose twice, whether i am getting some false sensation, and just imagining it, is this possible? many thanks for any advice.,

Would it be a good idea for my 78-year old mother to go ahead with dental implants?

June 6th, 2011
Q.
Hello, this is a question for my 78 year old mother. She\’s had dentures in since she was very young and had several replacements throughout her life. She is looking for a more permanent solution but is frightened that her age and fragility is going to get in the way of treatment. She also has type 2 diabetes and anaemia. What do you think Dr? Would it be a good idea for her to have the implants or can you recommend anything else? Thank you, Melinda.,
