Q. Hello, Is it possible to switch from a full upper arch removable denture over 6 implants to permanent fixed teeth on the same implants? Are there any disadvantages to having fixed teeth eg the effect on maintaining good hygiene and the possibility of infection if they are a permanent fixture as opposed to being able to remove the denture for proper cleaning? Lastly, would it be expensive to switch from a removable denture to fixed teeth. Thank you. Thank you.,
A. It is often expensive to switch to fixed teeth as the labwork is quite complex. However you should be able to reuse the implants rather than place any new fixtures. Cleaning should be straightforward and often requires less long-term maintenance compared to removable dentures
