My Dental Implant Crown Keeps Coming Loose. Have You Ever Heard Of This Happening?

Hello Dr Fahey, I hope you can help me. My dental implant crown has come loose 4 times in the last year and the screw has been tightened each time which only lasts a few weeks at a time. Have you ever heard of this happening? Twice it has happened while I was flossing under it. It doesn’t hurt at all, it’s just the crown is coming loose which worries me. Any advice? Can we glue that screw in there?My dentist is considering ordering some new part but he told me he has never seen this before. Thanks.

I have receding gums due to over brushing, what should I do?

Receding gums due to over brushing. One tooth front top and one spot between two front teeth are very visible and bothersome. Gum disease has never been a problem, and I floss regularly. Please advise on treatment .procedure and cost. Thanks

My implant fell out should I leave the area alone to heal?

After 5 years my implant has fallen out. For about 6 months I was noticing food getting stuck at the site of the implant. One day I went to floss and the implant totally feel out!! When I smile or talk you can not see the missing tooth. It has been 2 weeks and the site is beginning to close. Is it OK to leave it alone? Will it heal without infection. I\’m not sure I want to rep

lace it. (The entire implant with post intact fell out) I am looking for new dentist after several of our family has had problems with fillings ect. that she has performed. So I am interested in another oppinion. Thank you so much.,

Is there a special mouthwash I need to use after implants?

I am going to be getting an implant dr but need to know if there is any kind of special toothpaste or mouthwash i should be going to buy to uphold their health? for example would you say alcohol or non alcohol products? thanks for your time.,

What are the chances of me losing my dental implant in my case?

HI, I had a front upper implant placed about 1.5 years ago. It was 100% successful until 14 months after placement. Due to incorrect cleaning(Not flossing all the way up the implant) I developed a tingling sensation up in the bone above my implant(An infection I presume). The implant does not hurt at all. Around the implant there is no puss, no pain in the gums, and no redness. I went on antibiotics and it was fine for 2 weeks. Then the infection came back. The implant feels rock solid . I am going back to the oral surgeon in a week to have my gums opened up and reshapped. I am on Metronidazole 400mg for 1 week which does not seem to be as effective second time around. What are the next steps? Should I be pushing for bone grafting around the implant base so infection stops leaking up into my bone? What are the chances of losing the implant? Should i go onto longer term anitbiotics along with the surgery? I am rinsing around the implant with chlorhexidine and salty water(alternating) along with flossing. Many Thanks Michael,
