Q. do you know if implants can lead to any side effects like pain in the jaw or anything like this. I wam weighing up the plusses and negatives with other treatments so this is why I ask.

As with any surgical procedure there are risks involved.
These will differ depending on where in the mouth the implants are being placed. Most clients will experience some post operative swelling and pain which can normally be managed by over the counter pain relief.
The dentist proposing your treatment plan should be able to provide you with all you need to know along with any risks and what can be done to minimise these risks. Don’t be afraid to ask any questions or bring along a list of questions that you’ve been thinking about. An experience dentist will welcome the opportunity to discuss these with you.
