I had implant treatment in June and have now had silver pieces fitted. Is this the correct method?

Q. i have had had implant treatment june 2010 now i have had silver pieces fitted does this mean the implant didnt take i believe im having a implant dental bridge fitted thanksyou,
A. Thanks for your question. I think you need to discuss with your dentist the timescales for how your treatment is progressing. In many cases implant treatment is carried out in 3 main stages. 1. Surgical Placement of the Implants. 2. Surgical uncovery of the Implants – where healing parts are placed for the soft tissues this is normally several months after stage 1. 3. Restoration Phase where the final bridgework or crowns are prepared and usually involves a series of appointments and can be anything from 4-6 weeks or more depending on the case from stage 2. Talk to your dentist and I\’m sure they will be able to explain it all to you. Regards George Glover BDS MSc
