I may lose tooth near cleft palate I was born with. Would implants work for me?

Q. I was born with a cleft palate and it looks as though I may lose the tooth that sits directly beside the cleft. This tooth was used to support a crown 20 years ago but im told was unecessary. Ive had a root cancal due to pulpitis but it is still uncomfortable. My dentist says he is reluctant to do anything in that area but I have been to see an oral surgeon privately who did x rays and has said the tooth is othwerwise supported in good strong bone. Would you or could you do am implant in a case like this.,
A. I would if the bone is stable and have done on similar cases. Call my clinic if you\’d like me to give you a detailed idea of your options after a CT scan
