August 22nd, 2010
Q.
What level of pain can I expect after getting a dental implant? Is it comparable to root canal treatment or something? I presume I will be given pain medication or something…

Is the swelling around dental implant normal?

August 21st, 2010
Q.
I had an implant put in just over two weeks ago now, and everything was fine. However, I then developed swelling around the area again and am once again on antibiotics. Would you be able to tell me what will happen if the area around the implant does become infected, and what can be done about it?

Why may a dental implant fail?

August 20th, 2010
Q.
Is there a particular reason why a person may reject a dental implant? I had a dental implant placed but it not work out, and I am now going to have to get it sorted. If I have another implanted is there any likelihood that the same problem will arise? Or was I just unfortunate or something?

Hello, I am going to be getting a couple of dental implants next week. Not particularly looking forward to it. What kind of pain medication will I be given when the treatment is done to help alleviate the pain?

Would I be able to replace my crown with a dental implant?

August 19th, 2010
Q.
Dear Dr Solanki, I am 44 years old. I don’t know if you can help me. I have never had any self confidence because I have a crown on my front tooth, which is so unsightly, but I have tolerated because it was the only one that never fell out!! I don’t really live life to the full because my self esteem is so low, although I try my best to hide it. My dentist says he is relunctant to replace my crown in spite of my pleas because he thinks I will need an apicectomy. Dr Solanki, I am terrified of losing my front tooth/teeth. I am aware that there is a slight sensitivity above my front tooth in my gum near my septum. Do you think I would be suitable for an implant? If so, could you tell me the cost? Finally, Dr Solanki, could I have a consultation with you on Friday 13th November to discuss my situation. I appreciate that might not be suitable, so no pressure. Thank you for any advise or help you can offer me. Best regards, Mary.

What sympoms point to dental implant failure?

August 16th, 2010
Q.
I had my implant put in a week ago. Everything seems to be going okay, but I was hoping you would be able to advise me on what symptoms to look out for to ascertain whether a dental implant is a failure or success?

Is my sickly feeling caused by implant procedure?

August 8th, 2010
Q.
I am currently having treatmetn for a dental implant. I have had the implant put in and the stitches have removed removed. However, I still feel sicky and unwell. Could this in any way be related to the treatment? I still need to get a replacement tooth fitted but don’t think I am capable of going through with this the way I am feeling.

What sedation is available for the implant procedure?

August 7th, 2010
Q.
I am in no way a fan of the dentist, and would go as far to say that I have a phobia. It took me a long time to admit such a thing to myself but I can not deny it. However, I don’t wnat o lose my nice smile. I am okay with routine check ups, but when it gets to soemthing major I run away scared. My dentist has now told me that I need dental implants. I feel too scared to do this, but have heard about some sedation techniques. Could you offer me any advice on this, please?
