Can you get dental implants if you have gum disease and how much would it cost?

January 6th, 2014
Q.

Hello. Can you please help me with my dental situation. Can u have implants if you have got gum disease and how much would it cose for a complete set of implants and can’t i be a guinea pig for anyone. I am forty nine years old and really self-concious about my smile and I also hate going out because of this. I have only got six teeth down the bootom and two at the top and i don’t think that they are going to last much longer because of my gum disease. And dentures make me retch all the time so it wouid be good if you could reccomend what would be good alternative for my situation or if you could reccomend me to someone to be a guinea pig for them so I can get my teeth fixed and be happy with my smile.

Is it possible to get orthodontic braces if you have dental implants?

September 29th, 2013
Q.

Can orthodontic braces be used even if the person has dental implants in place of missing teeth? I have two implamts on my top jaw, after losing them due to an accident some time ago. They sit next to my two front teeth, which are what I would like to have corrected as they stick out horribly, drawing unwanted attention and comments all the time and just making my feel very self-conscious about how I look. Although I really want to have them straightened, I also do not want to risk the health of my two implants that have proved good so far, so do you think it is possible to have the Inman aligner without causing any damage? Thanks for your time.

I have an issue with the price and treatment time of dental implants. Can you advise?

June 10th, 2013
Q.

Hello. Can you please advise me. I have had a missing tooth for a couple of years now and I find that the gum keeps on swelling up, this often happens when i eat certain foods and it thenh gets stuck down there.
I think it is time for me to finally do something about this problem but i am unsure about what treatment to have that
would be the best for me.I am considering getting dental crown and dental bridge work and also dental implants for my missing teeth. I have somewhat of a problem with dental implants. My issue with dental implants though is the price and how long it takes-can you convince me otherwise about this situation? Thank you for giving me this time.

Is it nessessary to have a full set implant in the upper jaw or can I get just the front few done?

November 27th, 2012
Q.

I have only two natural teeth left in upper jaw. I used to have 4 crowns in the front but after many years the root couldn’t hold the teeth anymore. I’ve had them removed. I’d like implants. I’m 56 years old. Can I get just about 8 teeth for comestic purposes in the front. Or must I have the whole top of mouth done. I have lived without back teeth for a long time. I got my crowns done because of broken front teeth in my twenties. I do not have any gum desease.
On the lower jaw I have 9 teeth left. I’m more concerned with the upper ones. I have a small front artificial upper plate, as I cannot bear the full one. Is it nessessary to have a full set implant in the upper jaw or can I get just the front few done. Than you.

Why is it going to take 4-6 months to fix a crown to my dental implant?

November 17th, 2012
Q.

I am aged 58.Only two days ago My dentist have implanted a metallic screw type material on one my tooth. I thought he will provide me a crown on that screw within a day or two but he is now telling he will fix the crown after 4 or 6 months. Will you please explain me why so delay. An orthopedic surgeon dose not need so much time to insert a metallic part on the human body. Human body accepts a particular type of titanium alloy do you think that the screw what my dentist have implanted is of not that type so this unnecessary time is required to acclaim the given metal with my body .

With a habit of smoking and drinking my husbands spoiled his tooth implant. Which method of single tooth implantation will work best?

July 6th, 2012
Q.

Sir,
My husband had an accident and lost his single tooth 20 years back. 15 years back he had a dental implant with a screw. Now it’s been spoiled. He had an habbit of smoking and drinking. Which method do you suggest.
whcih method is suggestable for single teeth implant? screw form of implant or drafting directly into the bone. what are the advantages and disadvantages in these both methods, will the bone deteriarate over time considering the smoke, drink and previous implant? What are the new techniques in single teeth implementation. Please advise single tooth implantation.

One of my two recently fitted implants protrudes 45 degrees to the left and extends into my sinus. What do I do about the pain?

July 6th, 2012
Q.

Hello I have an issue with my implants, I have recently had two implants in the top front teeth, now the abutments have been fitted and one is located on the front of my gum about 0.5 cm or so up and protruding at 45 degrees towards the left tooth area. The top of this implant has now actually extended into the sinus area and can be seen on the x rays. This is really painful and I do not see how another tooth could ever be fitted to it whilst being in line with the others. Is there potentially a way this can be sorted out or should the implant be removed all together. It is all really painful in the bone and the gum as well after just 5 days, thank you for your time.

I had 4 implants but one tooth is still a gap. What is the best solution?

May 1st, 2012
Q.
Hello. I have a question for you Dr Glover. I had 4 teeth pulled out in the upper front of my mouth. I now have 4 dental implants and now I am waiting to have 4 teeth put actually I am missing a fifth tooth. This is ending up costing me alot of money. The extractions and the implants were reasonable but replacing the lost teeth is very costly. I don’t know the best solution to my problem.,
